Jean Davis, Executive Director
Jean has
extensive experience in corporate fiduciary management and planned giving. Before joining the Foundation, she was a
career financial planner for 20 years. She was the second employee hired at Lutheran Foundation of the
Southwest. Serving as its director of
operations for 19 years, she established the policies and procedures that the Foundation
follows in serving the Lutheran community in
In 2001, the
Board of Trustees appointed her to the executive director position. She has served the Foundation for more than
29 years and possesses invaluable experience in the planned giving field, trust
management, client care giving, and the probating of estates.
She is a
member of the Association of Lutheran Development Executives, The National
Council on Planned Giving, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
She and her
husband have two married sons and five grandchildren. They are members of
Mark Armstrong, Director of Finance
Mark joined the
staff as director of finance in 1985. He

years at the Foundation, he has developed a record of excellence: 26 years of clean audit opinions, develops
guidelines for the accounting of trust and endowment assets, monitors Foundation
investments, supervises timely beneficiary payments, and completes all IRS
reporting.

Johnson, Director of Advancement
David is the Foundation’s
director for advancement. He is a
life-long Lutheran who graduated from

responsible for public relations, holds seminars on planned giving, is a
speaker at various gatherings and meets privately with individuals or families
looking to discuss charitable estate planning. He discusses the establishment of planned gifts while working in
conjunction with their other advisors and helps to facilitate the documents.
He is married
with three children and is a member of
Rev. John Hunsicker, Director of
Development
John is a retired ELCA pastor of more than 35 years and lives in Weimar. He is married with two children, has one
grandchild, and is a member of Faith Lutheran in Weimar.
He is a
graduate of
He joined the
Foundation as a director of development in 2006 and is deployed staff in the Texas-Louisiana
Gulf Coast Synod.
He conducts
seminars and serves as a speaker and preacher in congregations. His unique
perspective brings a connection between the “person in the pew” in terms of
outreach to their use of the Foundation and the services it provides. He also consults with clients interested in
estate planned giving and how they can pass their assets to their families and
still make a gift to their congregation and other ministries of the church.
