Lutheran Foundation of the Southwest is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 1979 to develop financial support for seven Lutheran ministries based in Texas:

• Northern Texas - Northern Louisiana Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)
• Southwestern Texas Synod, ELCA
• Texas - Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod, ELCA
• Lutheran Social Services of the South, Inc.
• Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home
• Texas Lutheran University
• Cross Trails Ministries

A Board of Trustees oversees Foundation operations and establishes investment policies. Each sponsoring agency appoints one trustee; the remaining members are elected on the basis of their financial expertise and dedication to Lutheran ministries.
